re Texas Oil Businesṛ.

We had the honour of addressing Your Excellency on the 26th Febry. (as in copy enclosed), since when we have heard by

mail from Mr. Humphrey Cheetham in Shanghai confirming his readi-

ness to leave for Hongkong as soon as required by us to take up

our representation for the above business;

and we, on our part,

have sent to him an Agreement under which he enters into our

employ, as our Agent, and is debarred from doing any business

but for ourselves.

In order to enable Mr.Cheetham properly to carry on this

important business, we have written to the liquidators of

Messrs.Reuter Brockelman & Co., asking them to be good enough to deliver to Mr.Cheetham the books, papers, accounts and agreement s

relating to the oil business as soon as the present stock of oil

is disposed of, and to allow him access to them in the meantime,

for the purpose of taking notes or making copies.

We have also asked the liquidators to allow Mr.Hakon

Schluter to be consulted by Mr. Cheetham on all matters in regard

to which he may require enlightenment or advice.
